LeadingAge Nebraska is teaming up with Avera Education & Staffing Solutions to prepare Nebraska communities to become approved CNA training sites! Avera offers a state approved, completely online training program that is great way for busy staff to receive training! The first webinar was an introductory Zoom meeting on Thursday, February 17, 2022. **If you missed the intro webinar, CLICK HERE to view the webinar slides. Communities who missed the intro webinar can still participate in the CNA training program. Also, those registering after the March 17th webinar can still register and will receive the recording of the March 17th webinar.

Avera trainers will review the Nebraska-DHHS-approved training program and explain the process to get your community approved as a training site. LeadingAge Nebraska members who decide to implement the CNA training course in their community through Avera will receive a 20% discount off the Avera annual membership, which will provide a discount on all CNA training that you receive through Avera Education and Staffing Solutions! Avera will also be giving 5% of the membership fee back to LeadingAge Nebraska for all new subscribers!

The interested communities will need to register for the 2-webinar series, which includes the CNA Train the Trainer webinar on Thursday, March 17, 2022 and also the Survey Preparedness webinar on Thursday, March 31, 2022. The two additional webinars are intended to walk you through the entire process to getting your community approved and running as a training site as well as what to expect on the survey for your training site.


CNA Train the Trainer & Survey Preparedness 2-webinar Series | $25 for members, $50 for non-members

Webinar 1: CNA Train the Trainer | Thursday, March 17, 2022 | 2:00-3:00 pm CT

This presentation will cover the responsibilities of the nurse trainer at the facility and the steps they need to take to complete the onsite portion of the training. Presented by Gwen Maag, BSN, RN, BC and Sheila Ulrich, Director of Avera Education & Staffing Solutions

Objectives:

  1. Identify Federal regulation related to a CNA Trainer.
  2. Review Nebraska regulations related to CNA Training.
  3. Discuss Avera Education & Staffing Solutions (AESS) methodology and design of CNA Training, plus related documentation.  

Webinar 2: Survey Preparedness | Thursday, March 31, 2022 | 2:00-3:00 pm CT

This presentation will cover what the facility can expect in the survey of their onsite training program. Avera will co-present this training with other LeadingAge staff and members. Presented by Sheila Ulrich, Director of Avera Education & Staffing Solutions.

Objectives:

  1. Review the role of the Primary Instructor (Didactic and Supervised Practicum).
  2. Recognize the equipment needs and components for teaching and evaluating the Skills portion of the CNA Training Program.   
  3. List all required elements of documenting the entire 76-hour CNA Training Program.
  4. Identify the length of time to maintain attendance records for each CNA Training Program.

Continuing Education: 1 hour per webinar of continuing education from Nebraska DHHS Regulation and Licensure, Board of NHA has been approved for these webinars. Appropriate records will be maintained for other disciplines to receive credit from their credentialing organizations.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Substitutions are welcome any time before each webinar. Substitution requests must be emailed to Natalie McCormick ([email protected]). No cancellations will be approved or refunds issued.

Split/Share Policy: Splitting or sharing a registration is not permitted. Registrations are to be used by the same person for the entire event even if the person is able to attend only part of the program or conference. Only one user login can be used to sign on to a device at one time (laptops or desktop computers strongly recommended).
