With headquarters based in Johnston, Iowa, WesleyLife is a faith-inspired not-for-profit health and wellness network that offers senior housing and a variety of services to residents of its communities and older adults in the surrounding areas. As Iowa’s most comprehensive provider of services to seniors with a location in Illinois as well, WesleyLife currently operates 12 communities, and anticipates additional ongoing strategic growth in the future. All communities offer independent living, assisted living, memory care options, and health centers that provide both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation services, and WesleyLife has several additional support service lines. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will drive operations forward and play an integral role assisting in the development of a strategic roadmap for future goals. The COO leads the operational team through the creation of strong operational standards and efficient work practices that will contribute to the current and future success of WesleyLife. In keeping with the mission and values of the organization, the COO will fulfill an executive leadership role that requires discretionary thinking, sound judgment, decision-making skills, and the ability to come up with solutions. As a member of the executive team, the COO will work closely with the CEO and collaborate with other executives, management staff, and external resources as necessary to strengthen current operations and internal systems as well as create and implement growth strategies. The ideal candidate will be an experienced operations professional within senior living/health and wellness with a passion for serving older adults. A key attribute to success is a passion for always looking into the future from a resident/customer standpoint, as this organization strives for continuous quality improvement and innovation rather than simply maintaining its current success. They will be both a highly effective listener and communicator who integrates within a “customer and people-first” culture, while remaining sensitive and open to any opportunities for change necessary.
