The LeadingAge Nebraska Mission

Expanding the World of Possibilities for Aging through advocacy, education, and collaboration.

LeadingAge Nebraska History

When it comes to aging services, Nebraska’s mission-focused and like-minded organizations are known leaders in providing older adults with quality living options, flexibility and innovation and excellent care they can trust. The association that was to become LeadingAge Nebraska began in February 1975 as Nebraska Association of Homes for the Aging, Inc. (NAHA) [member of AAHA – American Association of Homes for the Aging]. In December 1995, the name changed to Nebraska Association of Homes & Services for the Aging, Inc. (NAHSA) [member of AAHSA – American Association of Homes & Services for the Aging]. In November 2010, the name was changed to LeadingAge Nebraska to coincide with AAHSA’s rebranding to LeadingAge.

Our name reflects our identity and our association’s aspirations for the 21st century and beyond.
