On behalf of LeadingAge Nebraska and our Board of Directors, nurse leaders from all over Nebraska are invited to apply for the second LeadingAge Nebraska Nurse Leadership Academy! Over the eight months of the Academy, our goal is to provide nurse leaders with clinical knowledge to perform their job, leadership skills to improve team dynamics, and collaborative relationships that will last a lifetime.

Registration deadline is July 31, 2024.

This page will provide you a general overview of the Academy structure, including important dates and contacts.

In person meetings: Several of the sessions will be held in person. It is important that you are in attendance at these meetings in order to obtain the continuing education credits and continue learning with your cohort.

Virtual meetings: Some meetings, particularly over the winter months, will be held online. These meetings may be shorter in duration. These meetings will continue to provide educational curriculum that is important to the course and live attendance online is required. Continuing education credits will not be provided for these sessions.

Virtual mentoring sessions: Virtual mentoring sessions will be held in addition to the virtual education opportunities. These meetings are to connect on an individual basis with a mentor and discuss any items that have come up in your implementation of skills, ask questions, receive clarification and general discussion.

Continuing Education: A minimum of 25 hours of continuing education from Nebraska DHHS Regulation and Licensure, Board of NHA has been approved for the Nurse Leadership Academy. Appropriate records will be maintained for other disciplines to receive credit from their credentialing organizations. Continuing education credits are dependent upon attendance verification. Up to 25 nursing contact hours for all nurses, provided by IWCC, Iowa’s Board of Nursing Provider #6. Approval pending.
