2022 Annual Conference COVID-19 Protocols

Updated February 15, 2022: Because the Omicron has proven to be less severe, but a more transmissible variant, LeadingAge Nebraska is committed to providing a safe environment for everyone interested in attending and assuring that CDC guidelines are being followed. Instead of requiring a vaccination card or proof of negative test, we will be asking each participant to complete a COVID-19 screen before attending each day. Our goal is to protect staff that will be returning to residents at their facilities following the conference. All conference attendees are encouraged to continue testing when they return to their facilities according to facility protocol.

Conference participants will be required to comply with the following:

  • All participants (attendees, speakers, exhibitors and LeadingAge Nebraska staff) will be required to sign in at the registration desk daily and complete a screening for COVID-19 related information.
  • All participants are required to wear a face covering at all times, regardless of vaccination status, at all conference events except when actively eating or drinking. In education sessions, speakers are required to wear a face covering in the meeting room except when presenting their content and directly addressing the audience. Face coverings should cover both nose and mouth. We suggest bringing your own mask. LeadingAge Nebraska will have disposable masks available on-site for those who need one.
All participants are required to adhere to the Additional Safety Precautions:
  • While visiting the Ballroom and Expo, participants are encouraged to monitor and keep safe space while interacting with others.
  • All participants must stay home if feeling ill. According to the CDC, people with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2 to 14 days after exposure to the virus; people with these symptoms may have COVID-19:
    • Fever or chills
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • Fatigue
    • Muscle or body aches
    • Headache
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Sore throat
    • Congestion or runny nose
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Diarrhea

For participants who begin to feel ill while at the conference or find out during the conference they have been in close contact with someone who recently tested positive:

  • Immediately leave the conference area.
  • Get tested for COVID-19 and report any positive result to known contacts and LeadingAge Nebraska at [email protected].
  • To err on the side of caution, participants are strongly encouraged to get tested 3-5 days after the conference, whether or not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.

While LeadingAge Nebraska is not legally authorized to require Holiday Inn staff and outside contractors to be tested, we are asking that all Holiday Inn staff and outside contractors be required to wear masks.

Participants should acknowledge that by attending they acknowledge forgoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any exposure or infection that may result in illness, disability, and/or death. Participants should understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself or others. Participants understand that if they  are ill before, during, or after the training, it is their responsibility to inform LeadingAge Nebraska.
